Newark Castle And A Trip To The Charity Shops.
A few weekends ago, when we both had a Saturday off work. We had a lovely day out in Newark and a walk around the castle and town centre.
It has been ages since we last visited Newark. My dad used to love the auction here down by the river. So many fun memories.
Newark Castle and a trip to the charity shops make for a perfect day out that blends history, exploration, and sustainable shopping.
Standing proudly by the River Trent, Newark Castle offers a glimpse into centuries of English heritage, with its striking ruins and peaceful surroundings inviting you to slow down and take it all in.
After wandering through the castle grounds and soaking up the atmosphere, heading into the town centre feels like a natural next step.

After an interesting walk around the castle grounds, lots of fun photos we had a walk around the town. There looked like lots of nice places to eat and drink but we were full up from breakfast.
Next time we might visit one of the pubs or go for afternoon tea there when we have more time.
Newark’s charity shops are conveniently close, making it easy to browse at a relaxed pace while enjoying the charm of the local streets.
Each shop offers something different, from vintage clothing and hidden fashion gems to books, homeware, and unique accessories waiting to be rediscovered.
Charity Shops Newark:
I did stumble upon two White Rose Fashion Boutique Charity Shops in Newark and brought lots of goodies.
They had a beautiful collection of ladies’ clothing and some great named clothing brands.
I did buy a gorgeous Marilyn Monroe style dress, a fun bright patterned tunic, and a lovely floaty kimono.
Keep a lookout for me wearing them soon!!
There’s a special satisfaction in finding a bargain while knowing your purchase supports a good cause.
Pairing a cultural visit with charity shopping turns the day into more than just sightseeing it becomes an experience filled with creativity and mindful choices.
