Visit To The Pumpkin Farm And Some Recipes

Visit To The Pumpkin Farm And Some Recipes To Try. Good evening, it’s Fri-Yay!! Happy Halloween Eve. Happy Friday, friends.

Today I am sharing a photo from last week when we took a visit to a Pumpkin Farm.

Autumn is the season of cosy jumpers, golden leaves, and of course, pumpkins! A visit to the pumpkin farm is one of the best ways to embrace the magic of autumn.

Wandering through fields of vibrant orange pumpkins, and sipping warm pumpkin latte’s makes for the perfect family day out.

Whether you’re picking the ideal pumpkin for carving or selecting a few for the kitchen, a trip to a local pumpkin patch is an autumn tradition not to be missed.

In this blog, we’ll share tips for making the most of your pumpkin farm visit, plus some easy and mouth-watering pumpkin recipes to try at home.

So grab your wellies, head to your local patch, and discover just how versatile and delicious this iconic autumn ingredient can be.

But the fun doesn’t stop once you get home.

Freshly picked pumpkins are perfect for creating a range of seasonal recipes, from creamy pumpkin soup and spiced pumpkin pie to savoury pumpkin risotto or fluffy pumpkin pancakes.

Not only are they delicious, but pumpkins are also packed with vitamins and fibre, making them a wholesome ingredient for any meal.

My kids used to love Halloween when they were younger.

They used to love going trick or treating and I used to love seeing all the houses dressed up for Halloween with them. So much fun.

I am sure it will not be the same for the children this year but I bet a lot more families will be having a little Halloween dress-up fun at home.

Visit To The Pumpkin Farm And Some Recipes To Try:

My daughter visited this Pumpkin farm last year with my son’s girlfriend and I’ve been waiting to go all year!

It is a shame we went when it was raining as they got some amazing photos last year but happy to have eventually got there!!

Also in other news my son is home from the hospital and learning to live his new lifestyle changes.

So much to learn about living with Diabetes, type 1. Life really isn’t fair sometimes.

Thankfully we found out in time as a few more days could have been another story. Such an emotional few weeks. I am worn out.

We have 3 big Pumpkins which we brought from the farm to cut up and make some yummy food with and also carve the biggest one up tomorrow.

What to make? We still have not decided. If you’re struggling for ideas too I have 9 Pumpkin recipe ideas on the blog today too.

Have you been to a Pumpkin Farm before?

Tips For A Successful Pumpkin Picking Trip:

  1. Firstly, Plan Ahead. Check when they first open. We were going to go this weekend but they are not open yet! Then check the opening hours. See if they have an admission fee.
  2. Also if you are taking children see if there are any activities available at your chosen pumpkin farm. Consider visiting on a weekday to avoid the weekend crowds if possible.
  3. Secondly, Dress Appropriately. You might need your wellies if it has been raining. Wear comfortable clothes like I did. Stretchy leggings, a warm jumper, and wellies.
  4. Sturdy footwear is key. As you likely be walking up and down the field looking for the perfect pumpkin.
  5. Thirdly, Bring Some Cash. Some farms may only accept cash for admission and pumpkin purchases, so it’s a good idea to have some on hand.

Happy National Pumpkin Day!

When is National Pumpkin Day? (Hint: It’s today! 26th October).

Hello my lovelies, it’s Claire here and I’m so excited because today is National Pumpkin Day! Isn’t it just the perfect time to celebrate all things cosy, orange and autumnal?

It was only a few days ago, we were at the Pumpkin farm, picking out this years pumpkin. It is a family tradition each year and then afterwards we go for a nice coffee to warm us up.

I’ve been thinking about pumpkins all morning: carving them, baking with them, decorating with them, and even drinking them (yeah, pumpkin spice lattes, I’m looking at you!).

It’s a little nostalgic, warm, and enjoyable. Let’s dig into a warm pumpkin-filled post together. Shall we?

Happy National Pumpkin Day!

Hope that your week is off to a good start.

I didn’t know your son was diagnosed with diabetes. I bet that has been quite an adjustment. Looks like you had a nice time at the pumpkin farm despite the rain. I have a pumpkin chili going in the crock pot right now (though I used canned pumpkin not fresh).

    • 17 November 2020 / 20:42

Thanks Joanne. It has been a bad few months.
